CEC happy with Gazipur law and order situation

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has expressed satisfaction over the law and order situation ahead of the Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) polls.

He, however, warned of taking tough actions against those who will be responsible for committing irregularities in the city polls.

Talking to the reporters at Deputy Commission (DC)’s office in Gazipur, the CEC came up with the remarks on Wednesday.

He said, “Though 84 days have been passed since the announcement of election schedule, the law and order situation still remained normal in Gazipur, so the voting will be free and fair.”

He also said preparation for setting up Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) is underway in six stations in the polls.
