Case filed accusing militant Abu’s wife

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Police have filed a case accusing 24/25 people including Sumaiya Begum, wife of “Neo JMB leader” Abul Kalam Azad alias Abu Ali, in connection with the operation at a militant hideout in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.

The case was filed on Saturday night.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibganj Police Station Habibul Islam confirmed the filing of the case around 2:00pm on Saturday.

The OC said, “Sub-Inspector (SI) of Shibganj Police Station Abdus Salam filed the case under the Terror Suppression Act.”

Four militants killed during the Chapainawabganj raid were buried at the graveyard of Chapainawabganj municipality around 2:30am on Saturday.

Earlier, Special Weapon and Tactic Team (SWAT) began an operation named 'Eagle Hunt' at a suspected militant hideout in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Wednesday evening (April 26).
