Chuadanga gunfight kills 1

Chuadanga Correspondent: A suspected robber was killed in a gunfight with police forces in Jibonnagar upazila of Chuadanga district early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Iman Ali, 40, son of Fakar Ali Bepari, leader of an inter-district robber gang.
Sources said on information about a robbery preparation, police conducted a drive in Ambagan area of Santaoshpur in Jibannagar around 2:00am. Meanwhile, sensing the presence of law enforcers, the robbers exploded some cocktail bombs. In reply, police opened fire which triggered the gunfight.
Later, police rescued the bullet hit robber from the spot and sent him to hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.
A shooter-gun, two rounds of bullets, four cocktails and five lethal weapons were seized from the spot.
Police said Iman Ali was the leader of an inter-district robbery gang. He was wanted in several cases including bombing, extortion, robbery and armed case.
District Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ahsan Habib confirmed the matter to media.
