Cotton warehouse gutted in Tongi

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A cotton and an old transformer warehouses were gutted in Mill Gate area of Tongi under Gazipur city on Sunday morning.

On information, four fire units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after one hour frantic efforts.

Senior Station Officer Md Atikur Rahman of Tongi fire service said, the fire originated at a cotton warehouse around 5am in the area and it immediately spread to the adjacent areas. Meanwhile, another godown of old transformer was gutted in the fire.

The losses of the fire incident could not be estimated immediately.
