Deadly fire at Pahartoli

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: A deadly fire broke out at Jolarparha of Abdul Alir Hat of Pahartoli area of the city early Sunday.

At least 30 semi-concrete houses and several shops were gutted in the incident.

Local Fire Service workers managed to douse the blaze after their three hours of frantic efforts.

Md Didar, control room officer of Agrabad Fire Service,  told risingbd that the fire engulfed near the house of former ward councilor Nurul Absar of Nesaria Madrasa road area of Pahartoli. The fire spread around within a short time. Being informed, 10 vehicles of three local fire services rushed the spot immediately and managed to douse the blaze in three hours of their frantic efforts. But, in the meantime, 30 semi-concrete houses and several shops were gutted.
