'Development to get speed if taxes are paid'

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Md Nojibur Rahman said that NBR is arranging tax fair regularly to encourage people to pay taxes. The development of the country will get more speed if people pay the taxes regularly.

NBR Chief said this after visiting the week-long "Tax Fair" arranging at GEC  Convention Centre of Chittagong on Friday.

Nojibur said those who pay taxes regularly, we are honouring them giving tax cards. We also find out that a family is paying taxes for 58 years. Those are paying taxes for 20, 30 or 40 years, we are recognizing them as "Tax Bahadur".

"We are also making the tax invigilation development stronger to collect the taxes," he said.
