Doa mahfil held for S M Nazrul Islam

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: A doa mahfil and mourning conference has been held remembering late S M Nazrul Islam, founding chairman of the country's leading electrical, electronics and home appliances manufacturing and marketing company Walton group.

The doa mahfil and mourning meeting organized by Azim Memorial High School of Gosai Joair village of the district's sadar upazila was held at the school's premises on Monday.

The mourning conference was chaired by S M Saidul Haque, former deputy director of the department of social services.

S M Zahid Hasan, executive director of Walton Group, attended the programme as the chief guest while S M Shoeb Hossain Nobel, executive director of Walton Group, as special guest.

In his speech S M Zahid Hasan said, "Walton Group's founding chairman S M Nazrul Islam was a far-sighted and thoughtful person. He loved his village Gasai Joair a lot. So, he lived here despite of being founder of the country's one of reputed companies."

His company Walton is now introducing Bangladesh across the world, he added.

Of the teachers of the school, Md Abdullah Khan, Siddique Hossain and Moniruzzaman, among others spoke in the meeting.



After the discussion, a doa mahfil was held for the salvation of the departed soul of S M Nazrul Islam.

Nazrul Islam was the president of Azim Memorial High School managing committee who passed away on December 17, 2017.
