Drug dealer killed in Cumilla 'gunfight' with BGB

Cumilla Correspondent: An alleged drug trader was killed in a gunfight with members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), along Golabari border in Sadar upazila early on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Abdullah Al Payel, 30, son of Sultan Mahmud, hailed from Champaknagar village of Sadar upazila.

BGB-10 commander lieutenant colonel Abu Mohammad Mahiuddin said, tipped-off, a team of BGB, led by Habildar Shah Alam, conducted drive in the area along Golabari border early morning.

Sensing the presence of lawmen, the drug traders opened fire on them, forcing them to fire back, leaving one drug trader injured.

Later, he was then taken to Cumilla Medical College Hospital, where doctor declared him dead.

Meanwhile, BGB recovered 2080 yaba pills from the spot.
