Drug peddler killed in Teknaf ‘gunfight’

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent:  A drug peddler was killed in a ‘gunfight’ took place between two groups of yaba peddlers in district’s Teknaf upazila early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Sahab Uddin, 42, son of Abdur Rahman at Kanjorpara of Whykong union.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Thana Prodip Kumar Das said two groups of yaba traders exchanged fire early Saturday at Kanjorpara of Whykong union.

He said on information a team of police reached there and found Sahab Uddin with seriously injured. He was immediately taken Teknaf Upazila Health Complex where duty doctors declared him dead.

Police also recovered 24,000 pieces of yaba, two guns and seven rounds of bullets.
