Drug trader killed in Munshiganj gunfight

Munshiganj Correspondent: A drug trader was killed in a gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Kumrbhog area under Louhajang upazila of the district early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Makbul, 36.

Mahitul Islam, company commander of RAB-11, CPC-1 Munshiganj said that acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted a drive in the area around 4 am. Sensing presence of the elite force, the criminals opened fire on them, prompting the RAB members to fire back in self-defence.

Meanwhile, RAM member Amir and Takiullah received injury. Later, the law enforcers found a bullet injured man in the spot and sent him to upazila health complex where duty doctor declared him dead. 

One pistol, two bullets, one magazine, 500 pieces of Yaba pills, Tk 4,675 and two mobile phone sets were seized from the spot, the RAB official said.
