Drug trader shot in Rajshahi gunfight

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: A suspected drug trader sustained bullet injuries in a gunfight between two groups of drug traders in Charshaympur Balughat area under Motihar thana of the district town early Tuesday.

The injured drug trader is Jarsis, 35, son of Abul Kashem, hailed from Kharbona area of Panchabati in Rajshahi Metropolitan.

Senior assistant commissioner Iftekhar Alam, spokesperson of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police said, on information that two groups of drug traders locked into a gunfight, police conducted a drive in the area. Meanwhile, police recovered bullet-hit Jarsis and sent him to hospital.

A total of 104 bottles of Phensidyl and three lethal weapons were recovered from the spot.
