Easy-bike driver killed in Gopalganj

Gopalganj Correspondent: A driver of battery-run three-wheelers, popularly known as easy-bike, has been killed by muggers as he was fell in water after tying up his hands-legs and mouth at Muksudpur in the district.

The incident took place at Domrakandi of the upazila on Tuesday late night.

The deceased was known as Bijoy Mollah, 15, son of late Khalil Mollah of Chapikandi village under Rajoir upazila of Madaripur.

Police seized the easy-bike and arrested two muggers in this connection.

Alamgir Hossain, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Sindiaghat police outpost, said that two muggers in disguise of passengers hired the easy-bike for Bhanga in Faridpur from Tekerhat of Madaripur.

When the easy-bike reached Domarkandi, they tied up Bijoy’s hands-legs and mouth and fell him in water of a roadside ditch, he added.

But a patrolling team of police held them while they were leaving the scene with easy-bike quickly, he said.

Later, police recovered the body, he added.

The body was set to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy on Wednesday morning.
