Father-daughter suicide: One more arrested

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Police arrested another accused in a case filed over the suicide of a man and his daughter together crushing under train at Shreepur in Gazipur.

The arrestee was identified as Md Faizuddin, 50, son of late Hassen Ali of Kornopur (Seatparha) of the district's Shreepur upazila.

He was arrested from Kanauta area of Shibpur upazila in Narsingdi early Saturday.

Md Shahidul Islam Mollah, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Shreepur Police Station, said Faizuddin went in hiding since the incident. He was arrested from the house of one Hanif Mia of Kanauta village of Shibpur with the help of technology early Saturday. He is the fifth person arrested in the case.

It may be mentioned that one Hazrat Ali, 40, and his adopted daughter Ayesha Akter, 8, committed suicide crushing under train at Shreepur railway station.

Hazrat Ali's wife Halima alleged that local stalker Faruk picked up their daughter Ayesha and tried to rape her. Locals saved the girl after they sensed the matter.

Hazrat Ali informed the matter to local UP member and police station. But they did not pay heed to his allegation, she added.

As he did not get justice, he along with his daughter took lives crushing under train, she said.
