Father-daughter suicide: Probe body formed

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A probe body on Monday night was formed over the incident of father-daughter suicide as they did not get justice at the district's Shreepur.

The committed led by Golam Sobur, additional superintendent of police (ASP), will investigate into whether there is any negligence of police to perform their duties in the case.

The members of the body are Md Shahedul Islam, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) in Shreepur circle, and Mominul Islam, inspector of special branch of police super office.

The committee is asked to submit report over the matter within three working days, said probe body member inspector Mominul Islam.

Hazrat Ali and his adopted daughter Ayesha committed suicide crushing under train at Shreepur railway station area on Saturday morning.

Hazrat Ali's wife Halima alleged that local stalker Faruk picked up their daughter Ayesha and tried to rape her. Locals saved the girl after they sensed the matter.

Hazrat Ali informed the matter to local UP member and police station. But they did not pay heed to his allegation, she added.

As he did not get justice, he along with his daughter took lives crushing under train, she said.

However, police arrested the UP member Abul Hossain after the incident. Later, Halima filed a case against seven people including the UP member with Kamalapur Railway Police Station.
