Father refuses to accept body of militant

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: The father of militant Nafis-ul-Islam, 16, who was killed during a drive at Nakhalpara in the capital, refused to receive the body home for burial.

Nafis’ father Nazrul Islam said, “As long as he studied and stayed at my home, he was my son. But, now he is not my son as he got involved with militancy. So, I will not receive his (Nafis) body."

Earlier on January 12, three militants were killed in anti-militancy drive at Nakhalpara of Tejgaon area. Two of them remained unidentified instantly. Later, Nazrul Islam identified his son after RAB published the photos of the militants.

Meanwhile, Nazrul Islam, Nazrul Islam, a dweller of Chandanaish upazila of Chittagong, demanded punishment of the criminals who motivated his son to join militancy.
