Fire at Munshiganj paper mill, 4 injured

Munshiganj Correspondent: Four people including a fire service worker were injured when a fire was broken out at Afil Paper Mills, a sister concern of Akij Group, in Baluakandi area under Munshiganj’s Gazaria upazila, causing huge damage to properties.

The fire originated at the mill close to Bhaterchar bus stand area of the upazila around 11:00am on Thursday.

Of the injured, one was identified as Parvez, 34, fire service worker.

Fire service sources said the fire erupted around 11:00am that left four people injured. Being informed, five firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after a frantic effort.

Later, the injured were taken to Gazaria upazila health complex.

The reason of the fire and extent of losses could not be known immediately.
