Fire guts 3 cotton factories in Gazipur

Kaliganj (Gazipur) Correspondent: A devastating fire broke out at three cotton making factories in Mill gate area of Bhadarthi village under Kaliganj upazila of the district. 

The fire originated in the area 7:00pm on Friday, leaving five houses, two shops and three cotton factories gutted.

On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after one and half hours effort.

Kaliganj upazila nirbahi officer Khandakar Muhammad Mushfiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge Md Abu Bakar Mia visited the spot. Meanwhile, the local administration distributed cash Tk 5,000 and cloths to the fire victims. 

Confirming the matter, Kaliganj fire service team leader Abul Kashem said the reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
