Fire guts house, shop in Gazipur

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A fire has gutted at least eight houses and 7 shops at Naojor area in Gazipur city corporation early Tuesday.

The fire originated from gas line of Habibullah super market owned by Haji Mostafa Kamal around 5:15 am.

Joydebpur Fire Service Senior Station Officer Md Jakir Hossain said gusts of black smokes were seen coming out from the super market by which houses and shops caught fire. The fire later spread to adjacent areas.

On information, two units of Joydebpur Fire Service rushed to the spot and doused the flame after nearly two hours of efforts, he said.
