Flood disrupts Burimari-Lalmonirhat train service

Lalmonirhat Correspondent: The train communication has been suspended on Burimari land port-Lalmonirhat route due to flood flowing from Teesta and Dharala rivers.

The train service was suspended since Sunday morning, leaving a local train stranded at Burimari land port.

Abdul Mottaleb, Station Master of Burimari Railway Station, confirmed the news.

He said schedules for all trains were suspended due to flood.

Nazmul Islam, official of Lalmonirhat railway divisional headquarters, said tracks were damaged by flood at three separate places of 78 kilometer route on Lalmonirhat-Burimari land port. Restoration of train communication would not be possible without repair of the damage tracks.
