GPS in every polling centers: Benazir

Staff Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General Benazir Ahmed has said that the force will take tight security measures at all poll centers including the risky ones in the upcoming Dhaka and Chittagong city corporation elections.

"In a bid to tackle any untoward situations rapidly, the Global Positioning System (GPS) that can track the location of an entity or object remotely, have been positioned at the centers" the RAB boss made the disclosures at a press conference held at the RAB headquarters on Sunday.     

Benazir Ahmed said, "We already have identified the risky centers of the three city corporations. In every word- two patrolling teams, a polling official, two motorcycle patrolling teams, plainclothes intelligence members and striking force will work.

"A monitoring cell will be set up at every polling centers. Besides, the law and order situations will be monitored from the RAB headquarters too," he added.
