Gazipur double-murder: Madrasa director remanded

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A Gazipur court has placed key accused of Gazipur’s Chandona double-murder case on a three-day remand.

The accused Ibrahim Khalil is husband of the deceased Mahmuda Akter and director of Huffazul Quran Madrasa.

Judge Ilias Rahman, senior judicial magistrate in Gazipur, also acting magistrate of Gazipur Metropolitan, passed the order on Thursday.

Aminur Rahman, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Gazipur Metropolitan Magistrate Court, confirmed the news.

Copped and throat-slit bodies of Mahmuda, 25, and madrasa student Mamun, 7, were found inside the madrasa of Chandona under Gazipur City Corporation early Tuesday.

Later, Md Hanif, father of the deceased Mahmuda, filed a case against his son-in-law Khalil, 45, and other three to four unknown people with Bason Police Station.

Mahmuda is daughter of Hanif of Kholisadholi of Chandpur sadar while Mamun is son of Shahid of Foyali Rosulpur under Gaforgaon upazila in Mymensingh.

Khalil is known as son of Robiul Islam of Kalihati in Tangail.

Mahmuda was second wife of Khalil. He resided with her in Bason area and operated the madrasa there.
