Gopalganj clash leaves 15 injured

Gopalganj Correspondent: At least 15 people were injured as two factions locked into a clash at Gopinathpur village in Gopalganj Sadar upazila over establishing supremacy in the area.

Confirming the incident, Inspector Hazrat Ali of Gopinathpur police investigation center of Gopalganj said there had been a long-standing conflict over establishing supremacy in the area between the two groups—Sheken Sheikh group and Torik Sharif group. An altercation erupted between supporters of the two groups when they visited a place in the area on the day of Eid.

Following this, the supporters of the two groups locked into a fierce clash, leaving 15 people of both the groups injured, the police official said.

Later, the injured were admitted to Gopalganj General Hospital for treatment, he added.
