Govt to scrap Section 57

Habiganj Correspondent: Law Minister Anisul Huq said in order to ensure justice the government is going to enact new law scrapping Section 57 of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act which has come under severe criticism recently.

He also said the new law will incorporate a system so that no one can get harassed unnecessarily.

The minister made the announcement while replying to newsmen after the inaugural of Habiganj Judicial Magistrate building on Sunday morning.

MP Abu Zahir (Habiganj-3), MP Abdul Mazid Khan (Habiganj-2), MP Mahabub Ali (Habiganj-4), Woman MP Asmatul Kibria Keya Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner Sabin Alam, District and Sessions Judge Md Atabullah were, among others, present on the occasion.
