'Hill Tracts Peace Accord to be implemented fully by 2018'

Staff Correspondent: Expressing hope, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi has said that the Hill Tracts Peace Accord will be implemented within 2018.

Gowher Rizvi said this while addressing a meeting organized by Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs at Shilpakala Academy in the capital on Monday.

He said that the Sheikh Hasina government had started working to implement the Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Accord, which was signed on 2 December 1997.

"The incumbent government began the task in this regard getting power again. We are hoping that the Hill Tracts Peace Accord to be implemented fully within 2018," he added.
