House owner shot dead by robbers in Sylhet

Sylhet Correspondent: A man was shot to death allegedly by some robbers at Chotodesh Agfad village under Kanaighat upazila of the district early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Ibjal Uddin, 45, son of Abdul Jalil.

Mamunur Rashid, Kanaighat Sadar Union Chairman said, breaking door, some 14-15 members of a robber gang entered into the house around 3:30am and tried to loot valuables. Meanwhile, Ibjal tried to protest the robbers. But, the robbers opened fire aiming him, leaving him critically injured.

Later, locals rushed to the spot and sent to hospital. But, the victim succumbed to his injured on the way of hospital. 

Kanaighat police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Ahad confirmed the matter.
