Housewife beaten to death in N’ganj, husband arrested

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: A housewife was allegedly beaten to death by her addicted husband at Chowdhurybari Shantinagar under Siddhirganj upazila in Narayanganj on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Alo Akter, daughter of late Rafiq of Shelamoti village under Shreenagar Police Station of Munshiganj.
Police arrested her husband Jony in this connection.
Jasim Uddin, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Siddhirganj Police Station, confirmed the news.
He said, “The incident took place at the rented house of the couple at Godnail Shantinagar area. Being informed, we rushed to the spot and seized a bloodstained spool of kite from the home. Law enforcers also arrested the woman’s husband jony, son of Babul Mia of the area.”
“It is believed that Alo Akter might have beaten to death by the spool. The body was sent to morgue for autopsy,” he added.
