Jamaat ameer among 103 arrested in Rajshahi

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Police arrested 103 suspects including ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Puthia upazila during separate drives in different parts of the district.

Rajshahi district and metropolitan police detained them in overnight special drives conducted in the district from Thursday evening to early Friday.

Of them, 53 were arrested by metropolitan police and 50 were arrested by district police.

Puthia upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Md Abdullah is among the detainees. A team of Puthia police station detained him from Sargachi village of the upazila.

District police spokesperson senior assistant police super (ASP) Abdur Razzak Khan confirmed the matter.
