JnU female student loses legs as train runs over her

Staff Correspondent: A female student of Jagannath University (JnU) of the capital has lost both of her legs as a train ran over her.

The incident took place at Kamalapur Railway Station on Sunday noon.

The victim was identified as Rubina Akter, 22, final year student of the university's Social Welfare Department.

Source said Rubina was moving from platform no.4 to platform no. 5 at Kamalapur station. She fell down on the rail track after feeling dizziness while a train engine ran over her.

Rubina was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) immediately.

Yeasin Faruk, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kamalapur GRP Station, confirmed the news.

Rubina was known as daughter of late Robiul Islam of Shantinagar village under Deviganj upazila of Panchagarh.

She lives in a mess of the capital's Sadarghat area. She went to Kamalapur for heading towards home village.
