Khadem murder: Case filed, two arrested

Noakhali Correspondent: A case has been filed over killing a khadem of a mazar (shrine) in Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali.

Deceased's wife Nilufa Begum filed the case with Sonaimuri Police Station around 11:00am on Thursday.

Meanwhile, police arrested two people for their suspected  involvement in the killing and seized a knife used in killing from their possessions.

The arrestees were identified as Yeasin, 25, son of Nur Mohammad of Shaktola village, and Md Sujon, 22, son of Dulal Mia of Uttar Shaktola village.

Masud Sarker, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Sonaimuri Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said, "The deceased's wife filed the case against the two accused. Of them, Yeasin was nabbed red handed from the spot while Sujon was arrested conducting drive at the night."

The body was sent to Noakhali General Hospital for autopsy, he added.

Sona Mia, 55, khadem of Afzal Patwari Mazar at Char Hatgati village under Nadona union, was slaughtered on Wednesday night.
