Lightning kills 3 in Sylhet

Sylhet Correspondent: Three people including two brothers have been killed in lightning strike in Sylhet.

The incident took place at Mirergaon area under Mogogaon union of sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were known as Babul Mia, 18, son of Badar Uddin, his brother Emon Mia, 12, and Abdul Momin, 17, son of Bilal Uddin of the same area.

Shafikur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jalalabad Police Station, said a lightning strike occurred on them while they were fishing in a Haor near the village, leaving them killed on the spot.

The bodies were kept at the morgue of Sylhet Osmani Medical College, he added.
