Lightning strike kills 2 in Sylhet

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet: Two youths were killed in lightning strikes in Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet district on Tuesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Tufael Ahmed Tuhin, son of Karim Ali Botai and Salman Ahmed, son of Fakhrul Islam.

Quoting the victim's family members, Borochotul Union Parishad Chairman Moulana Abul Hossain Chotuli said fathers of the two youths had been harvesting Boro paddy at a haor near their homes since morning. Both of them were killed in lightning strikes on the spot while they were bringing food for their fathers at noon.
