Madrasa student killed in Khulna wall collapse

Staff Correspondent, Khulna: A student was killed and another injured when a portion of a wall of an under-construction building of Samsul Ulum Madrasa collapsed on them at Atra under Khanjahan Ali Police Station in Khulna city on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Nasrullah and the injured was Abdullah Al Jobair. Both of them are twelve years old.

Confirming the matter to risingbd.com, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Khanjahan Ali Police Station Showkat Hossain said there were twelve students in the building who were sleeping during the incident.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khan Jahan Ali Police Station Ashraful Alam said the incident took place in the area around 10:00am when a portion of a wall of its building collapsed on the students, leaving Nasrullah dead on the spot and Jobair injured.

The OC suspected that the incident might happen at a jerk caused by a train which was passing near the building.

Nasrullah was rushed to a nearby hospital but died around 11:30am while undergoing treatment, the OC added.
