Man gets death for killing wife in Gazipur

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A Gazipur court has sentenced a man to death penalty in a case filed for killing his wife.

Judge AKM Enamul Haque of Gazipur District and Sessions Judge Court passed the order on Thursday morning.

The court also fined him Tk 10,000 thousdand. Besides, he was given five years rigorous imprisonment and fined Tk 5,000 in another section of the case. In default, he has serve one more month in jail.

The death-row convict was identified as Md Aynal Haque, 35, son of Abdul Manan of Baimile Pashchimparha area under Gazipur City Corporation (GCC). He was present in the court during announcement of the verdict.

According to Gazipur court Inspector Rabiul Islam, Aynal strangled his wife Anwara to death and then burnt the body setting set fire over dispute of properties he wanted to register from her.
