Man given mass beating for derogatory comment to PM 

Bagerhat Correspondent: A man was handed over to police after mass beating for his alleged derogatory comments over Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Sanyasi Bazar area of the district's Morelganj upazila on Thursday night.

The man was identified as Gaffar Hawladar, 45, son of late Moslem Ali Hawladar of Kechichalitabuniya village of the upazila.

Rashedul Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Morelganj Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said locals handed over Gaffar to police after giving him good thrashing for his derogatory comments over Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and planning to carry out subversive activities.

"There are allegations against Gaffar of setting fire at election centres and involving anti-government activities," he added.
