Man held with 5.5kg heroin in Rajshahi

Staff Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel detained man along with 5.5kg heroin from Bhatopara area of Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Monday.
The detainee is identified as Shamsul Haq alias Sova, 55, son of Thandu Miah of the village.
In a press briefing, RAB-5 media wing said, acting on tip-off, a team of RAB conducted a drive on the house of Shamsul around 7:00 pm and detained him along with heroin worth about Tk five crore, weighting 5.5 kilograms.
Meanwhile, the law enforcers also seized a mobile phone set, a SIM card and Tk 49,500 in cash.
