Man held with 75 kg ganja in Chandpur

Chandpur Correspondent: Police detained a man with 75 kilogram of ganja from Harinaghat ferry ghat in the district on Sunday morning.

The detainee is identified as Shimul Sheikh, 24, son of Abdur Rashid, hailed from Bagerhar district.

Sources said that acting on a tip-off, police took position in the area. Meanwhile, sensing the presence of police, the drug peddlers fled the scene leaving the ganja laden covered van.

Confirming the matter, Chandpur Sadar Model police station Sub-Inspector Mahbub Mandal said a case was filed in this regard.
