Man killed in Trishal 'gunfight'

Staff Correspondent, Mymensingh: An alleged robber was killed in 'gunfight' with police at Bagha village of the district's Trishal upazila early Wednesday, police claimed.

The deceased was identified as Ashraful Islam, hailed from Gafargaon upazila of the district.

Police also arrested five more robbers with lethal weapons.

Imarat Hossain Gazi, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mymensingh Detective Branch (DB), confirmed the news.

He said the gunfight took place at Bagha village while robbers were taking preparations for robbery, leaving Ashraful dead during the gun battle.

The deceased was accused in at least 14 cases including murder and arms, he claimed.
