Mostafa calls on Jhantu

Staff Correspondent, Rangpur: The newly elected Rangpur City Corporation mayor Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa has called on former mayor and defeated ruling party candidate Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu.

Mostafa arrived in Jhantu's Monthana's residence with garland for his rival candidate around 8:30pm. Mostafa and Jhantu then embraced each other.

Seeking assistance from  Jhantu, Mostafa said, "You are involved in politics for long days. You are my elder brother and I respect you. Hope, you will help and guide me how to run the city corporation."

Mostafa bagged 1,60,489 votes with his party symbol 'Plough' against 62,400 votes with party symbol of 'Boat' of his nearest rival Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu.
