Mother, daughter commit suicide in a room

Sirajganj Correspondent: A woman and her daughter allegedly committed suicide by hanging in a room at Railway Colony of Sirajganj municipal on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Sumi Khatun, 40, wife of one Abdul Mannan and their daughter Mala Khatun, 14, ninth grade student of SB Railway Colony School and College.

According to locals, Mala had a relationship with a local youth and some three days ago she fled to Manik’s house claiming to marry him.

Her father brought her back and then beat up mother and daughter. Following the assault, the duo committed suicide. Later locals took them to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital where duty doctor pronounced them dead.
