Mother-daughter dies as truck turns turtle

Bogura Correspondent: A woman and her daughter were killed as a rod-laden truck turned turtle after hitting an opposite-head bus near Fatki bridge on Bogura-Rangpur highway at the district’s Shajahanpur upazila on Wednesday noon.

The deceased were known as Jaheda Begum and her daughter Samina. They were in cabin of the truck.

According to police, the truck hit an opposite-head as after its driver lost control over the steering, falling the truck off the bridge.

Locals rescued four injured and bodies of Jahed and Samina from the spot Jaheda. They died as they were stuck in the cabin, police said.

Zia Latiful Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shajahanpur Police Station, said rickshaw-puller Kaiyum were heading to his Thakurgaon village along with family members by the truck.
