NGO director killed in Jessore

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: A man known as director of a Non-government Office (NGO) was killed by shooting and bombing at uposhohor area of Jessore town on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Golam Quddus Viku, 52. He was an executive director of Prottasha Social Welfare Organization. The NGO is operating loan programme in the area.
Witnesses said miscreants shot Viku and blasted two crude bombs on him when he was going to his home of Block-B of Uposhohor on Saturday night. He sustained a bullet injury on his head and a bomb was blasted on his body, leaving him seriously wounded. Later, he was rushed to Jessore General Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead.
Ajmal Huda, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the news.
The mystery behind the murder and the killers could not be identified immediately, he added.
He, however, said police have already actitivities to uncover the mystery.
