Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: At least ten people have died in a stampede at the kulkhwani of former Chittagong mayor Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
The shocking incident took place at Rima Convention Centre in Chittagong city’s Jamal Khan area around 2:00pm on Monday.
Alauddin, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) police outpost, confirmed the number of dead.
However, the deceased could not be identified immediately.
It may be mentioned that the kulkhwani of departed Chittagong mayor Mohiuddin Chowdhury has been arranged at 14 community centres in the city.
