Nine get life-term in Kishoreganj murder case

Kishoreganj Correspondent: A Kishoreganj court sentenced nine people to life-term imprisonment for killing a farmer in 1996.

The court also fined them Tk 10,000 each, in default, they have to suffer three more months in jail.

Judge Md Abu Taher of Kishoreganj 3rd additional judge court passed the order on Tuesday noon.

The convicts were known as Mostafa Mia, Abu Siddique, Wahab Mia, Abdul Awal, Morom Ali, Moti Mia, Rustom Ali, Ismail and Abu Siddik.

According to the case statement, the convicts hacked farmer Haris Mia over previous enmity at Matuail Kanda area of the district's Kuliarchar upazila while he was returning home from a local market on October 24, 1996. He succumbed in a hospital on the following day.

Later, Deceased's brother Shahidullah filed a case against 13 people with Kuliarchar police station in this connection.
