OC Altaf Hossain lands in jail

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sent former officer in-charge (OC) of Kutubdia Police Station Helaluddin also current OC of Companiganj police station on charge of taking bribe.

Judge of Cox's Bazar District and Sessions Judge Court Mir Shafiqul passed the order around 11:30am on Tuesday.

Mamtaj Ahmed, Public Prosecutor of the court said, the officer in-charge Altaf Hossain recorded a case taking bribe when he was in-charge of Kutubdia police station. Later, plaintiff in the case filed a case with court producing evidence of bribery.

The court directed the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) to conduct investigation. After the investigation, the watchdog submitted report before the court. Following the case, OC Altaf appeared before the court this morning and the court sent him to jail.
