One dead, hundreds of houses damaged in Bhola cyclone

Bhola Correspondent: More than a hundred houses were smashed as a cyclone struck two villages at Dhonia union under Bhola Sadar upazila of the district, leaving a teenager dead and five others injured.

The deceased was identified as Md Razib, 13, and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

Local sources said a cyclone erupted with a violent wind around 5:30pm and struck Kalasura and Dariramshankar villages of the upazila, leaving more than a hundred houses smashed.

People of the damaged areas have taken shelter in an open air, they said.

The extent of the properties damaged could not be known immediately, they added.

Mujahidul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

The UNO said a list of the damaged families is being prepared.
