One killed in Jhenaidah, 2 detained

Jhenaidah Correspondent: A young man named Wahidul Islam (35) was killed in an attack by his opponents during an arbitrating session at Mundia village under Kaliganj upazila.

Police arrested two people named Saddam Hossain and Shahidul Islam.

The deceased Wahidul Islam was the son of Golap Sheikh of the village.

Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station Aminul Islam said that a goat of Billal Hossain at Khamarmundia village consumed jute crop of Shahjahan Ali at 9.00am on Thursday.

There is a debate between both parties on this issue. On Thursday night, Ali Hossain Apu, chairman of Raigram Union, sat in an arbitrating session with the both parities. During the meeting Shahjahan’s supporters got excited and attacked Wahidul Islam, leaving his seriously injured.

He was first admitted to the Kaliganj Health Complex and later to Jessore Medical College Hospital. He died at 2.00am under the treatment.
