One killed in Kasba ‘gunfight’

Brahmanbaria Correspondent: A youth has been killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police in the district’s Kasba upazila.

The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Mia, son of the late Samoraj Mia, at Latuamora village under Kasba upazila.

The gunfight took place on Tuesday midnight at Chondidar village of the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kasba Thana Mohammad Mohiuddin said Ibrahim’s wife Renuara Begum (30) was arrested with six kgs of ganja.  Ibrahim and his cohorts opened fire to free Renuara from police, forcing the policemen to back fire that triggered a gunfight.

Ibrahim died on the spot.

Police arrested 15 persons in the connection.

Police also recovered three rounds of bullets and some local weapons from the spot.
