PM to inaugurate canal re-excavation in Noakhali

Noakhali Correspondent: Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate canal re-excavate tasks in Noakhali through a video conference on January 4.

The Minister made the assertion while visiting Dhanshalik union area under Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali district on Monday noon.

Obaidul Quader said re-excavating tasks under the supervision of military will be ended by 2021. Dragging in seven kilometers of Bamni River and a sluice gate construction are included in the tasks. Water logging problem will be solved following the tasks in Noakhali.

"No government took steps to solve the water logging and irrigation problems. Thing the sufferings of people in this area, the incumbent government premier Sheikh Hasina allotted money in canal re-excavation," he said.

Ekramul Karim Chowdhury, the lawmaker of Noakhali- 4 constituency and general secretary of district unit Awami League, Noakhali deputy commissioner (DC) Mahbub Alam Talukdar, Kabirhat Upazila Parisad Chairman Kamrun Nahar Sheuli and others attended there.
