‘People will get emergency services like developed countries ‘

Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy has said that using the phone number 999, people will get emergency services like the developed countries.

He said this at the inaugural function of the expanded national emergency services across the country using toll free phone number 999 on Tuesday.

Joy formally inaugurated the services at the function at Police Control Room at Abdul Gani Road around 11.00 am.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan attended the function as the chief guest.

People are currently using the 999 service to get emergency services from police. But after expansion of the service, people from every corner of the country will get 24/7 emergency services from police, ambulance and fire service by just dialing at 999 over both mobile phone and telephone.
