Pintu`s 2nd namaz-e-janaza held

Staff Correspondent: The second namaz-e-janaza of former BNP leader Nasir Uddin Ahmed Pintu was held in front of the party`s Nayapaltan headquarters in the city on Monday noon.

The 2nd janaza of the ex-lawmaker and Assistant Organizing Secretary of BNP, who died on Sunday noon, was held at around 11.55am.

Around 11:00am, the body of the BNP leader reached the Nayapaltan office where the party men and his well wishers paid tributes to him.

BNP Standing Committee member Moudud Ahmed and ASM Hannan Shah attended the janaza alongside the hundreds of thousands of leaders and activists of the party.

Earlier, the BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Afroza Abbas, wife of Dhaka city unit BNP convener Mirza Abbas, had paid their tributes to Pintu.

Later on, after Asr prayer the third namaj-e-janaza will be held at the field of Leather Technical College in capital`s Lalbagh.

The BNP leader`s dead body will be buried beside the cemetery of his father at Azimpur graveyard in the capital, family sources said.
 
Earlier, around 5:00am today the body was taken to Pintu`s residence at Hazaribagh`s Moneshor Road after his first namaj-e-janaza in Rajshahi.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, after he suffered a cardiac arrest at Rajshahi Jail around 12.12pm, and he was immediately taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital but the duty doctors declared him dead.
